Pond Tour sites for 2016--October 8 (10am-5pm) and 9 (1-5pm)
SITE DESCRIPTIONS--

2355 Reilly Ranch Loop, Burkburnett, TX 76354 Larry and Vickie Roderick Established 2003. 48,000 gal. / 40 x 70 x 4 / 16 ft. waterfall
(Drive north toward Burkburnett on I-44. Exit at Daniels Rd and turn left [west]. Follow Daniels Rd around curve to Y at railroad; veer left on Ameron Rd for about ½ mile to a stop sign [Ameron ends]. Turn left onto Kramer, to stop sign, and turn right [north] onto FM 369 for 100 yards. Turn left onto Schmoker, go about 1 mile and turn left onto Reilly Ranch Loop; go straight about 1 mile into Rock Hill gate on left. [GPS may not be accurate.] Call 940-237-2814 if lost. Alternatively, from the west side of Wichita Falls, travel FM 369 north toward Burkburnett, then turn left on Schmoker and continue directions above.)

Established 2007. 750 gal. , Waterfall. Koi, goldfish, variety water plants. Uses rain water collection.
(Off Seymour Highway, one block west of Kemp)

(Off Hwy 82, west of Wichita Falls toward Holliday, turn south on Turkey Ranch Rd., then right on Vinson PR, winding your way up the hill. Second house on the right.)

6724 Kit Carson Trl, Wichita Falls, TX 76310 Richard and Kay Dalton
Original pond established 2009. 20x4x2. Tropical theme with statuary. New since last tour are the pine trees on the west side. NEW this year is the swimming pool we converted to a water garden. Fish galore and diverse water plants. A true tropical paradise. Potted plants--citrus, ficus, mandevilla--surround the pool. (Kit Carson is two miles west of Memorial Stadium off Southwest Parkway.)

6710 Apache Trl, Wichita Falls, TX 76310 David and Mary Marsh
The pond is two years old and is very special to Mary in that it was a Mother's Day present from her children. Lots of love went into building it. Most of the items around the pond, including a painted wooden bench, where given by her children.
It has 650 gallons of water with three tiers. It is three feet deep with koi and goldfish and assorted plants.
( Apache Trl is off FM 2650 [Sisk Rd] in the same subdivision as Kit Carson. See above directions.)

16012 FM 1954, Wichita Falls, TX 76310 John and Mary Rhoads
Established 1991, pond is 9'x12' kidney shape with an abundance of water plants. There are a few koi hiding therein. Water collection: Three 2800 gallon and several 100 gallon tanks collect rain run-off from the house, barn, and the neighbor's shop roofs. (Head south from town on SH 79 [toward Archer City]. Turn right on FM 1954. The driveway is just west of the Bowman School House/Fire Station.)

Est. 2010, 850 gal. Waterfall, all natural rock, fairy statue, water plants, multitudes of fish.
(South Winds Dr. is just north of the United Supermarket on Jacksboro Hwy.)

4834 US Hwy 287 N. Access Rd, Wichita Falls, TX 76305 Rick and Linda Ward
Established 2014, 1200 gallons
Features: Two waterfalls, koi and goldfish. Water lilies, parrot feather, pennywort, miniature cattails, iris, umbrella palm, corkscrew rush, elodea
Plus a fishing pond and a catfish pond. Newly added is the bat box at the fishing pond. Naturalists take note.
(Take 287 [toward Henrietta] exit at Jolly, turn left, go under overpass, turn left in front of Jolly Truck Stop heading back to Wichita Falls. DO NOT TAKE RAMP to 287, but stay on access road for 1½ miles to gate with large WARD sign. [GPS may not be accurate.]
